主要研究方向:

从事环境污染物的早期健康效应研究,研究环境中的重金属、大气细颗粒物(包括PM2.5和PM0.1)等对人体健康的影响。利用环境有机地球化学、流行病学、和毒理学等方法,筛选重金属暴露对儿童智力发育的影响及其特异性生物标志物,探索重金属对儿童神经发育的快速评估系统;筛选和鉴定大气颗粒物中的有效毒性种类,鉴定特异性生物标志物,阐述PM中新污染物对人体的毒作用模式。

针对环境中重金属的污染问题,结合流行病学数据和体外验证结果,提出砷、汞、铅和镉四种重金属低浓度长期暴露的情况下,低于国家血铅阈值(100 μg/L)的血铅仍然是诱导儿童智力降低的主要因素,筛选出2个印记基因,作为血铅诱导儿童智力降低的生物标志物,并进一步探索评估铅对智力影响的快速检测系统。研究发表在环境领域顶级期刊ES&T,STOTEN, 和EP杂志上,获得了国家专利许可,并作为评价多种重金属低浓度暴露下血铅对儿童智力有显著影响的有力数据,被全球环境健康权威数据库美国环保署综合风险信息系统(US EPA IRIS)关注并收录作为各国政府重金属公共卫生管理的决策依据。

筛选鉴定PM2.5/PM0.1样品各组分中的有效毒性物质,依据流行病学和人体细胞实验结果,利用傅里叶变换离子回旋共振质谱仪(FT-ICR MS)、加速器质谱(AMS)、核磁共振(NMR)、制备性液相色谱分离技术、气相液相质谱技术等地球化学方法分析新污染物的组成、结构、来源等信息。初步筛选出PM2.5中来源于生物质燃烧、煤炭燃烧和二次污染源的类腐殖酸类化合物(Huminc-like Substances, HULIS)可能是诱导炎症和凋亡的主要毒性组分,其芳香环数和双键数起关键作用,并筛选鉴定出新化合物的分子式。研究结果发表在环境领域顶级期刊ES&T和EP等杂志上,并两次被选为ES&T的内封面。

在国内首次建立HPLC-MS/MS全基因组DNA甲基化和MALDI-TOF-MS/MS分析组蛋白修饰的检测方法,分析了环境中普遍存在的三氯生和苯及其代谢物低浓度暴露诱导的毒性效应,并筛选出了潜在的分子标志物。关于三氯生的文章,被英国知名的文献推荐平台F1000prime推荐为“非常好”的论文,并评价了论文结果对三氯生肝毒性的贡献。
